Lei Jun reveals the number of patents owned by Xiaomi and breaks the controversy against Apple

Xiaomi's goal is to expand globallyand what can allow this is the large number of patents that the company has accumulated in recent times. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, reveals that the company has 6324 patents in its name and currently 53% of these are registered trademarks outside of China. Most of Xiaomi's patents have been deposited in China, but the company also has patents in Europe, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, India, Mexico, Australia and South Korea.

Unfortunately Often the Chinese OEM can not develop the patents it has for the hands in time as in the case of the retractable selfie camera, for which instead the smartphone manufacturer Vivo recently introduced in the Vivo APEX model, but Xiaomi had a similar patent in its portfolio. The number of patents disclosed by Lei Jun is a significant improvement over last year when the CEO during the launch of Mi 5X / MIUI 9 made it clear that the company had obtained 4806 patents at that time. Lei Jun also mentioned thepatent acquisition agreement reached with Nokia but also with the agreements signed with Microsoft, companies that will certainly help Xiaomi's expansion abroad.

Xiaomi has recently opened a new research and development center in Shenzhen, in mainland China with the aim of developing more and more new patents and innovative ideas in the smartphone and IoT field. Finally Lei Jun also raises one little controversy against Apple, which recently introduced the possibility to pay for public transport tickets via Apple Pay, following the iOS 11.3 update, in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi is already time, from the 2016, which offers this service and currently there are nine smartphones compatible with NFC technology that support the service and it is therefore clear that the service offered by Apple, named Transit Express, is a clear emulation of what Xiaomi has offered so far.

Nerd, Geek, Netizen, terms that do not belong to me. Simply myself, technology lover and provocative as Xiaomi does with his products. High quality at fair prices, a real provocation for the other most famous brands.
