Not just Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck: Lenovo is also coming with Legion Play

Chinese tech giant Lenovo apparently wants to expand its product portfolio with what will be the first handheld game console. In fact, a new leak reveals that we could see an Android-based portable game console with the name of Lenovo Legion Play.

Not just Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck: Lenovo is also coming with Legion Play

The news comes from the site Android Authority that would have released images of the next Android game console caught on GBA Temp by a user, who also discovered that the images were linked to the Lenovo website and with the product name “Legion Play”.

The leak also suggests the images have been uploaded to the company's German and Japanese MWC 2021 web page. So it looks like the brand wanted to launch this device earlier this year, but then changed its mind for reasons not yet known.

According to what we see in the images of the Legion Play, it is a portable game console that runs on Android and what appears to be a custom launcher. We can even see icons for NVIDIA GeForce Now, the Play Store, and many other Google applications.

On the hardware side, however, there seems to be a USB Type-C port, a 3,5 mm headphone jack, two analog sticks, four front buttons, a D-pad and even buttons on the shoulder.

Now we just have to understand if the Lenovo Legion Play will be launched in the future or if the brand has completely abandoned this project.
