After a few days from the first leak and from the official teasers, the Xiaomi sub brand, POCO, has just presented the new POCO M3, a mid-range with high performance and low prices. Let's go find out more!
POCO Official M3 with Snapdragon 662 and 6000mAh battery for only 129,9 €
As always, let's start with the screen, which is on the POCO M3 is a modest 6.53-inch diagonal panel with Full HD + 2340 × 1080 resolution, 1.500: 1 contrast ratio and 19,5: 9 aspect ratio. The screen is also covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it from scratches and drops, and is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified to be able to watch content for hours without straining your eyes.
As for the photographic sector, the M3 of POCO adopts a triple camera on the back with 48MP main, 1/2 inch large sensor, 1.6μm 4-in-1 pixel and f / 1.79 focal aperture. Then we have a secondary 2MP and focal aperture f / 2.4 for macro photos and another 2MP with depth sensor. While for selfies we find an 8MP front camera with 1.12μm pixels and f / 2.05 focal aperture. On the software side, the brand has brought features like Night mode for photos taken in dark environments by increasing the contrast of colors; Movie frame to give photos a cinematic effect; Time-lapse and slow motion video up to 120fps.
From a performance point of view, the POCO M3 integrates the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 as a chipset, which ensures a smooth user experience and thanks to the Qualcomm Adreno 610 GPU is able to let us play at maximum speed. Furthermore, being an 11nm CPU, the Snapdragon 662 offers high performance while maintaining lower heat generation and lower power consumption, making it the POCO M3 a really interesting device in its price range.
The chipset is then supported by a maximum of 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. While the internal memory type UFS 2.2, therefore faster memory than the common one reaches up to 128GB. In any case, the memory is expandable via microSD card up to 512GB.
Another strong point of the POCO M3 is its autonomy, the mid-range is in fact powered by a huge 6000mAh battery. According to the brand, this translates into over 5 days of light use, slightly less than 3 days in case of moderate use. While it takes about 1,5 days for the battery to fully discharge under heavy usage. In addition, the battery of the POCO M3 is built to withstand high temperatures and withstand nearly 2,5 years of use without noticeable degradation.
For charging instead, the device comes with a 22,5W charger, although it actually supports fast charging with a maximum power of 18W.
Other specifications on the smartphone include: dual speaker, Hi-Res Audio certified, 3,5mm headphone jack, 2,4GHz / 5GHz WIFI, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared emitter, FM radio, side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI Face Unlock.
But let's get to the point, how much will the new mid-ranger cost POCO? Well, the M3 will be available in Italy in three colors - Cool Blue, POCO Yellow, Power Black - and in double configuration from 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB respectively at the price of 159,9€ e 179,9€. The sale of both variants will start on November 27, which rightly coincides with Black Friday and therefore for the first 24 hours (while stocks last), they will be available for purchase on mi.com and on Amazon at the special price of 129,9€ e 149,9€.
