LIVE EVENT PRESENTATION FEBRUARY 14 2018, INDIA, NEW DEHLI

note 5 notes

It starts with a warm welcome given directly by the vice president of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain, who breaks the ice by talking about the countless successes achieved by the brand in Indian territory. Xiaomi is now the number one smartphone brand in India with a market share of 25%, considering that out of the 10 best-selling smartphones in Q4 of 2017, 6 belong to the Xiaomi company which over time has focused attention on fans looking for of constant feedback to improve and build more and more devices dedicated to them.

The event continues by talking about the success that last year saw the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 as the protagonist, a device that fully represents the company's philosophy, bringing innovation and high-level specifications to users. A sales record for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 equal to over 9 million units sold. But without further ado, the word passes to Jai Manim chief product manager of Xiaomi India, who enthusiastically announces the greatest progress in the history of the Redmi Note series, namely Redmi Note 5.

Redmi Note 5 is the smartphone of the thinnest series ever, only 8,05 mm thick for a device with a body embellished with precious metal on the back. But the biggest update concerns the display which for the new Redmi Note 5 will be a 5.99-inch unit in 18: 9 format. The picture is completed by a processing on the edges of the phone to better adapt the grip in the hands.

Redmi Note 5 is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery capable of guaranteeing an entire day of autonomy allowing you to range between all activities, such as games, videos, music and anything else your imagination can unleash. There will be four colors available: black, gold, rose gold and the new lake blue. The main camera has a 1,25 micron pixel sensor allowing for improved photography in low light conditions. You get 56% more light in each pixel than a 1-micron sensor, resulting in brighter, more detailed photos.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 aims at photography as you can find an LED flash for quality selfies on the front. A light with a temperature of 4500K, cold natural white, was chosen, which develops like a natural glow on the face of the subject, considerably improving the photographic performance especially indoors. Redmi Note 5 has an excellent construction and first-rate materials, such as the double sheets of pyrolytic graphite which guarantee optimal heat dissipation even during the most intense task, effectively reducing the general temperature by 1° C compared to a single sheet of pyrolytic graphite. Redmi Note 5 comes with Corning Gorilla glass protection for better shock resistance but a free TPU cover will also be present. The prices are confirmed as those we told you about at the beginning of the article, but let's face it, the Redmi Note 5 is the well-known Redmi 5 Plus, offered to the Indian market. Disappointed? Well, there's more in store.

In fact, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is presented with enormous praise, becoming the first official smartphone to be launched in this 2018. The highlight is certainly the CPU which will be entrusted to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, earning the Redmi Note 5 Pro the title of first device in the world to be powered by such a chipset. Qualcomm and Xiaomi have worked closely together to make this possible. The Snapdragon 636 has a Kryo-type structure, which was previously exclusive to Snapdragon 800 series chips such as Snapdragon 835 and 820: in particular, the Snapdragon 636 will have 4 Kryo 260 cores obtaining a performance improvement of 50% and consumption reduced by 40%. %. This will also happen thanks to the adoption of the LPDDR4X type RAM which offers 30% more in terms of efficiency reaching up to 6 GB, the first time that this capacity has been adopted on a device belonging to the Redmi series.

Another pleasant revelation and novelty concerns the photographic sector both front and rear. The latter will be a double module placed vertically and composed of a 12 megapixel unit with Sony IMX486 sensor for standard images while a 5 megapixel unit will come into play for depth effects. A complex process called semantic segmentation has been implemented, based on the powerful deep learning algorithm: in practice, a pixel-level image is separated into two levels: the pixels that are part of the foreground and the pixels that are part of the background, thus keeping the foreground sharp while deftly blurring the background. The front camera will have a beautiful 20 MP resolution with a large aperture f/2.2, for sharper selfies, even in low light conditions. This is achieved by the high-performance Sony IMX 376 sensor with the adoption of pixel binning technology, which reduces overall image noise. Also for the Redmi Note 5 Pro there will be an LED support for the selfie camera as seen on the Redmi Note 5 as well as Redmi 5 Plus. Also for selfie lovers at the software level there is Beautify 4.0, created through the processing learning of thousands of selfie photos taken in India, able to recognize the face and the classic BINDI on the forehead, intelligently beautifying the rest of the face. Furthermore, given the potential of the camera, it will be possible to carry out the portrait effect with an improvement in the subject's contouring algorithm, but also to take advantage of the Face Unlock function.

Apparently only two variants will be provided for the Redmi Note 5 Pro, in the memory cuts of 4 GB for RAM and 64 GB of expandable internal storage, with a price equal to Rs. 13999 (about 176 euros) while the version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will be sold at Rs. 16999 (214 euros). Unfortunately, no information has been leaked about support for telephone bands, the operating system adopted or anything else, but we will not fail to deepen the information and report it to you correctly. Now the event continues with the presentation of a new product for India, partly anticipated by recent teasers, namely the Xiaomi Mi TV 4.note 5 notes

In fact, as expected, Mi TV 4 is the other protagonist of the day but which we will not talk about much as it is a product that we already know. In fact, with its profile of only 4,99 mm it integrates a 64-bit Amlogic quadcore processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. Dolby Audio DTS-HD is present for the complete cinematic experience. System based on PatchWall and excellent Bluetooth remote control, super easy to use thanks to only 11 buttons as the functions offered by Bluetooth also allow you to take advantage of voice commands.

The event ends with an appointment: 22 February 2018, the date on which the products presented at the event will be officially marketed at Mi Home, the online store of Xiaomi and Flipkart which will have exclusive sales in India.

But before saying goodbye, we are waiting for you on our Facebook group dedicated to Redmi Note 5 in all its variants
