The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 could have had a pop-up camera

Xiaomi, with the first Mi MIX concept phone, was the company that started the bezel-less trend, that of borderless smartphones, probably one of the best and definitely much more fascinating than the notch introduced by Apple with the iPhone X and from the Essential Phone.

Since the origin of the bezel-less trend, several smartphone manufacturers have ventured into the difficult task of creating a full screen device, but only recently Vivo and Oppo have succeeded, even if not fully, in the company.

As you well know, both smartphones use a small electric motor to take the camera out (on the Vivo NEX S) and to slide the entire top (on the Oppo Find X). These two solutions, even if they give a futuristic feeling, are not, however, the best choice to have a really full screen smartphone; or at least that's how they think in the Xiaomi labs.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 prototype

In fact, the company admits that it has designed various prototypes with the same technology present on the Vivo NEX S since 2015, but which for various reasons they then shelved. We obviously suspect that one of the factors was the uncertain durability of this technology, but Xiaomi's spokesperson, Donovan Sung, only states that "the slide mechanism of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 allows for a better full screen experience, especially for photos. ". Do you agree?

Although the sliding design is already something attractive, especially for the most nostalgic, the Mi MIX 3 will not be just that. As we have learned in recent days, the next flagship produced by the Chinese house will have features never seen before on a smartphone. The terminal will in fact be equipped with the most modern of the internet connections to 5G and up to 10GB RAM, as well as a possible one wireless charging to 50W (still to be confirmed).

Fortunately, it lasts only an exact week at the launch, so it's not lacking much to know all the details!
