You are probably in the same situation as me, that of having to complete the drafting of articles, reviews or in any case important text files for your work, but having little time available you are forced to stay up late. First of all, it is good to point out that the product we are testing is made with recycled plastic, exactly 71% for the construction of the keyboard and 49% for the mouse, so a careful eye on the environment, which never hurts. The design is decidedly classic and the key layout is entirely Italian, but compatibility is only supported by Windows operating systems (from version 7 onwards), Chrome OS and Linux, so if you have a MacOS and are looking for a silent keyboard , this LOGITECH MK295 is not for you.
I should also immediately point out a further absence, namely that of a backlighting of the keys, which would have combined perfectly with the SILENT TOUCH technology, if the intent is to write in the middle of the night.
LOGITECH MK295 is available in white or black and connects to our PC via wireless technology using a 2.4 GHz receiver that you will find inside the mouse, by lifting the cover which also hides the housing for the AA battery, which allows an autonomy of up to 18 months in standby while two AAA batteries are used for the keyboard which bring the autonomy in standby up to 36 months. Naturally these values are utopian, but I can say that I have owned the LOGITECH MK295 mouse and keyboard combo since December 2023 and to date while I am writing this review I have never changed the battery, leaving the keyboard and mouse on when not in use. The connection takes place in 0.3s with a range of 10 meters, therefore it can be used for example on large screens, allowing you to move away from the video source. No drivers are needed and the connection is Plug&Play.
I could really go to the values cited by the brand, because there is an on/off button on both the mouse and the keyboard. The mouse is very compact and offers 3 buttons, also equipped with SILNET TOUCH technology. However, we do not have the possibility to adjust the DPI, but then again we are not talking about a gaming product and there is no need to do so. However, the fact that the mouse recognizes practically every surface is excellent, offering precise pointing and clicking always and everywhere. The design is slightly contoured and compact like that of the keyboard, allowing portability inside a backpack or bag, but above all the keyboard offers a complete layout of all the function keys, numeric keypad and also 8 quick action buttons as well as the Caps Lock key activation light.
The supplied keypad is really efficient for quick data entry while the 8 quick action buttons allow you to quickly recall functions such as email, calculator, internet, volume control and even quickly turn off the PC. The whole aesthetic of this combo is clean and elegant, giving a clean and tidy desktop environment as well as free of cables, thanks to the wireless connection. The keyboard and mouse keys are super responsive, returning the given command in real time without any delay.
The keyboard also offers two adjustable feet for writing height as well as a series of non-slip rubber pads on the bottom for stability when writing. A sort of resistance to splashes and liquids doesn't hurt either: the company declares the "survival" of LOGITECH MK295 after a laboratory test where liquid was poured for a capacity of 60ml.
But as mentioned at the beginning, the strong point of this keyboard and mouse is the adoption of SILENT TOUCH technology which, despite the same writing sensation of a standard keyboard, reduces the noise generated by 90% compared to a traditional keyboard and mouse. The spacing of the keys is perfect, which allows correct typing in every situation thanks also to the presence of a small recess that helps when writing.
PROJECTED IMPACT
This LOGITECH MK295 wireless keyboard and mouse combo is not for everyone, it does not offer gaming specifications, but it is the perfect solution if you are an office user or similar, such as writers, columnists or if you use a keyboard and mouse a lot during the day. First of all, you will not be tired after long hours of writing sessions and mouse scrolling thanks to a somewhat ergonomic shape, excluding a wrist rest, but above all the SILENT TOUCH technology will avoid headaches for you and those around you . Considering that you often find it on offer on Amazon at a price of around 30 euros, I would say that this product deserves full marks.
