Many times users ask us if the products sold through Chinese channels are original and / or authorized. The answer is yes, at least here with us. The same cannot be said for China and India, however, where there is a huge fake market whose value touches, in terms of amount of money, on authentic products. Just this last country a few days ago has seen itself consumed one of the biggest scams regarding Xiaomi counterfeit products. Fortunately, the police managed to seize everything, but the value of the brand's fake products amounted to a total of 13 lakhs, at the current exchange rate around 16.000 €.
Maxi seizure for 16.000 € of counterfeit Xiaomi products
Xiaomi, India's leading smartphone and TV brand, has announced that Delhi police have seized counterfeit products from the 13 lakhs value (16.575 € to be precise) using without authorization the Xiaomi brand. In the midst of these technological genres there are products even launched on the Indian market such as the Redmi Air Dots. Some of the seized counterfeits include powerbanks, sports headphones, travel adapters with cable, a multitude of types of headphones with and without cable and different types of USB cables. A complaint was presented to the local police and the controls and raids in the market were immediately triggered Gaffar in the week of 25 November.
"Police officers from the Karol Bagh police station in the central district along with company representatives conducted the raid in which they seized over 2000 fake Xiaomi products by four shop owners who have been arrested for selling counterfeit Xiaomi products, ”Xiaomi says in an official statement.
As noted TheIndianExpress, there are some tricks to check the authenticity of Xiaomi products:
- all Xiaomi products carry the original Mi logo. Make sure of check the logo before buying a brand product;
- all the fitness products authorized as Mi Band are ccompatible with the Mi Fit app. If a band doesn't work with the app, you may need to bring it to a Mi Service Center to verify its authenticity;
- all Xiaomi products are equipped with "Li-Poly" batteries. Signs such as "Li-ion" on the batteries indicate that they are not original products.
In any case we want to assure you that all the products sold through our channels are original and not fake. The only thing that could happen, but it is ALWAYS reported, is that the product you choose to buy is not a global version: even in that case we reassure you that the product is original, but simply is destined for trade in China.
