Privacy: fear of Mi Browser? Here's how to revoke permissions

A little for the speech India, somewhat for what privacy we saw long ago, we are all aware of the issues related to data tracking. Some applications have been indicted and specifically of Xiaomi Mi Browser is one of them. The fuss arose at the moment Forbes questioned the brand's credibility after an analyst found the proprietary browser system in flaws. These flaws would have allowed the tracking of user data. The problem has been fixed but if you are still scared here is one guide to solve.

Don't worry about Mi Browser: with this simple guide you can revoke all app permissions and our data will be safe

Now, without falling into controversy, it is absurd that a single application has caused all this havoc. The permissions we give them day by day by downloading any application from Play Store: how do we know, as simple users, which of these use our data? Having said that, let's see how revoke all Mi Browser permissions on our Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones, in such a way as to make it "harmless".

  • first you need to open the Mi Browser app from your smartphone; immediately after we go to the bottom right (first photo) on the icon of the little man and tap;
  • at this point the personal profile will open: from here we go to "Settings”By tapping on the gear at the top right (second photo);
  • in the settings panel now we go down and look for "Privacy and security“: Once found, we tap on him to find us in the screen that will allow us to disable and revoke the permissions;
  • now we go down to the bottom of the page and we will find "Authorization“: We deselect the switch and after 10 seconds the system will have authorization revokedin fact which allows the collection of data. Such data will come deleted from servers of the brand. If in the future you would like to reuse Xiaomi's proprietary browser it will be possible to do so, but when you open it again you will need to log in (if you want) and review the short tutorial.

We hope that the guide was clear and useful. Personally, with all the permissions we give to applications daily, I don't think the browser problem in question is insurmountable. In any case let us know if there are any problems via the comments section below.

I don't understand how to change the default browser settings, a few days ago my browser asked me to “become the default browser” and I clicked in speed and approved. Now I can't go back anymore. I removed all the permissions as indicated in this article hoping that the "good" old Chrome would return but nothing to do. Do you have any idea how to do it? I have followed all the tutorials but nothing to do, the possibility of telling chrome to become the default browser seems to have disappeared
