The well-known Taiwanese chipmaker, MediaTek, recently released the new chip Dimension 9200+, which focuses on the high-end flagship market. Well, now it seems that the company is instead close to launching a new mid-range chip, the Dimensity 8300.
The specifications of the next MediaTek Dimensity 8300 with 1+3+4 architecture have been leaked
The leakster Revengus has in fact just unveiled the technical specifications of the next MediaTek home processor. According to Revengus, the Dimension 8300 will adopt a 1+3+4 chip architecture, which includes a Cortex-X3 core (maximum frequency of 2,8Ghz) , three Cortex-A715 cores (maximum frequency of 2,4GHz) and four Cortex-A510 cores (maximum frequency of 1,6Ghz).
The chip is also equipped with a GPU Arm Mali-G520 MC6 with a frequency of 850 MHz. Already from these data it can be understood that the performance of the new chip will be significantly improved compared to the previous generation MediaTek Dimensity 8200, with energy consumption that will also be well controlled.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 should position itself as an upper-middle-range device. The new iQOO and Redmi series are expected to be the first to feature this chip. So the Dimension 8300 should be released soon in the second half of this year.
Staying in MediaTek house, we previously found out that next Dimensity 9300 will use of the ultra-large Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores. While the GPU will be the Immortalis G720, which has been significantly improved in terms of performance and energy efficiency.
Cortex-X4 ultra-large core performance averages 15% higher compared to those of the previous X3, and the new energy-efficient microarchitecture based on the same process can reduce energy consumption by up to 40%. While the Cortex-A720 mainly improves the power consumption ratio. Compared with Cortex-A715, energy efficiency is increased by 20%. The above improvements are reflected in actual use, i.e. the maximum performance is higher and the power consumption in daily use is lower.
In terms of GPUs, the Immortalis-G720 it has improved performance and energy efficiency by 15% over the G715, and system-level efficiency has increased by 40%. More importantly, the new DVS (Delayed Vertex Shading) technology helps to expand the number of cores and reach a higher level of performance.
