MediaTek just unveiled the new processor Dimensity 8350, which as we already know powers new devices Oppo Reno 13, Reno 13 Pro e OppoPad 3. This new chipset represents an evolution over its predecessors, bringing with it improvements aimed at optimizing performance, particularly in gaming.
MediaTek Dimensity 8350 officially announced
The MediaTek Dimensity 8350 is built with a process at 4nm, the same used for its predecessor Dimensity 8300. The chipset integrates an octa-core processor composed of four Cortex-A715 cores with a maximum frequency of 3.35GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores. For the graphics part, the Dimensity 8350 uses a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU, which ensures excellent visual performance even in the most demanding games.
One of the main innovations introduced with the Dimensity 8350 is the StarSpeed engine, specifically designed to optimize performance in games. This engine replaces the HyperEngine present in the previous Dimensity 8300 and promises a 10% reduction in energy consumption, which can reach up to 24% during high frame rate, full-screen gaming sessions. Additionally, the StarSpeed Engine improves scene transition speed by 24% and significantly reduces jitter, making the gaming experience smoother and more immersive.
The Dimensity 8350 supports LPDDR5X memory quad-channel with a frequency of up to 8533Mbps and UFS 4.0 storage, ensuring ultra-fast data transfers and excellent multitasking performance. In terms of connectivity, the chipset integrates a MediaTek 780 multicore NPU for AI-related tasks, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G and Wi-Fi 6E. This allows devices equipped with Dimensity 8350 to offer advanced connectivity and greater power efficiency.
The Dimensity 8350 is capable of driving displays with refresh rates up to 180Hz in FullHD+ resolution and up to 120Hz in WQHD+ resolution. As for the photographic sector, the chipset supports cameras with resolutions up to 320MP for a single sensor or configurations triple 32MP each. Video recording is limited to 4K at 60 frames per second, offering high video quality for smooth, detailed recordings.
