MediaTek is preparing to introduce an update to its Dimensity chipset with the new one Dimension 9300+, that will be presented on May 7th. This new model builds on the success of its predecessor, offering incremental improvements that promise to further optimize performance and efficiency.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ anticipated: launch scheduled for next week

The Dimensity 9300+, successor to the acclaimed 9300, stands out with its improved CPU performance, with the Cortex-X4 main core now reaches 3.4Ghz, an increase compared to previous ones 3.25GHz. The other three X4 cores remain at 2.85GHz and the four core A720 a 2.0GHz, ensuring an optimal balance between power and energy efficiency.
But it's the AI that steals the show. The chipset will not only feature an “APU” – AI processing unit – but this component is expected to receive a substantial upgrade, expanding the possibilities of what smartphones can do. Vivo, one of MediaTek's partners, has already shared demonstration images illustrating how the future vivo X100s can capture a photo and season it thanks to generative AI, a glimpse of the extraordinary capabilities that await us.

The predecessor, the Dimensity 9200+, had already made headlines at the MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference last year, introducing a GPU overclock in addition to that of the CPU. This chipset has found a home in devices from brands such as vivo (for the X90 series), Oppo and Xiaomi, setting a new standard for mobile device performance.
Looking ahead, MediaTek is already working on the next flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400, which should be ready in the last quarter of the year. Switching to a TSMC node from 3nm (N3E) and by upgrading the main core to a Cortex-X5, while the remaining cores remain unchanged, the 9400 promises to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in Geekbench and AnTuTu multi-core benchmarks. And of course, there will be further improvement in AI performance.
With the announcement of the Dimensity 9300+, MediaTek continues its path of innovation, paving the way for the future Dimensity 9400, which is expected to bring with it further improvements in both performance and AI capabilities.
