Meizu DreamCar MX: the brand's first EV will arrive later this year

It's official: Meizu, a well-known company specializing in smartphones and tech products, is about to take a bold step in automotive world. During the ChinaJoy 2024 event, Meizu's COO, Liao Qinghong, enthusiastically announced that the brand's first car, the MEIZU DreamCar MX, will launch this year. This move represents a significant shift for the company, which until recently was primarily associated with mobile devices.

Meizu DreamCar MX: the brand's first EV will arrive later this year

After a critical phase, Meizu was acquired by Chinese automotive giant Geely. This step opened up new perspectives for the brand, which began to explore new horizons. First there was the presentation of the top of the range Meizu 20 and 20 Pro, followed by the announcement of Flyme Auto, a system dedicated to the world of smart cars. Additionally, Meizu plans to open new retail outlets in China, where smartphones and cars will be integrated into specially designed showrooms.

During the November 30 event, Meizu revealed its trump card: the DreamCar MX. This will be the brand's first electric car, ready to revolutionize the sector. Current details are still sparse, but we know that the DreamCar MX will be unveiled during the first quarter of 2024, with an initial debut on the Chinese market.

What makes the DreamCar MX unique is its approach to design. Meizu will actively involve its fan community in the creative process. Users will be able to contribute to the definition of personalized details, such as body paint, interior choice and Flyme Auto theme. This deep involvement will allow us to create a tailor-made car, in line with the expectations of enthusiasts.

The DreamCar MX is just the beginning. Meizu is not the only brand to focus on electrification, as we know Xiaomi has also launched the range Xiaomi SU7. However, Meizu's entry into the automotive sector is a sign of change and innovation. With its sporty styling and Flyme operating system, the DreamCar MX promises to be a car to keep an eye on.
