Meizu patents dual cell batteries: will we have Super mCharge of 65W or more?

As some of you may know, several Xiaomi, OPPO and OnePlus smartphones use fast charging which allows charging from 0% to 100% in about 30 minutes, while the latest Meizu 18 Pro and Meizu 18s Pro have a maximum charge of 40 W ( wired / wireless). It therefore takes about 50 minutes to load from 0% to 100%, but apparently that is about to change.

Meizu patents dual cell batteries: will we have Super mCharge of 65W or more?

In fact, the brand has just obtained a patent from CNIPA with the name "Diversion-type battery charge/discharge control system and related control method, electronic equipment". In summary, this is a patent for multiple battery charge/discharge technology. Competitor products using more batteries include OnePlus 10 Pro (2×2500mAh), OPPO Find X3 Pro (2×2250mAh), Xiaomi 11T Pro (2×2500mAh), realme GT 2 Pro (2×2500mAh) , with powers of 80 W, 65 W, 120 W and 65 W respectively.

But you don't really need a dual cell battery system, the example is the Redmi Note 10 Pro which supports 67W fast charging with a single battery. Thus, fast charging of 40W or more can be achieved without obtaining this patent.

Previously, Meizu unveiled the 55W Super mCharge at the fastest 2017 MWC at that time, and there is a high possibility that a new Super mCharge applying the acquired patent this time and the technology developed in the past will be installed in the next flagship.

Since Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro were announced last year, Meizu 19 and Meizu 19 Pro should be the lucky ones to adopt the new technology.
