One of the most wanted products of 2020 but also one of those that have disappointed us most is the Mi Band 5. Xiaomi's new smart bracelet, built for her by Huami, it took a long time to wait after an infinite amount of rumors and leaks but the expectations were perhaps too high. We were expecting one Pro version with NFC or with support for Amazon Alexa, but then we found out it will be a product of Amazfit to integrate this feature, together with the control of blood oxygenation. However, it appears to be arriving in Global version the smartband with NFC.
Normally the Taiwan certification precedes the products in the Global version: it seems that the Mi Band 5 with NFC is also arriving in Europe
From one of the XDA members who responds to the name of Deiki-kun, we learn of the recent Mi Band 5 certification with NFC at the NCC in Taiwan. Now, in normal terms, certifications outside of China indicate the arrival (at an unknown time) of a Global version product. Same thing goes for Taiwan but in this case there is something wrong. Let's see what together.
Although the Taiwan certification, as mentioned above, precedes the arrival of the product in Global version as a rule, the XDA member checked the code number. This, strangely, corresponds to the Chinese version which currently already provides the NFC chip. According to him there is an error in the system since two identical smartbands cannot be certified in the same country, with identical identification numbers. Consequently one is led to think that this Mi Band 5 with NFC is destined for the overseas market and therefore to ours. Below are the images of the NCC certification.
Obviously a aesthetic level will not change anything: the loading mode remains the magnetic one, with the pins positioned in the lower part; the size of the will always remain from 1.1 ″ in line with the Global and Chinese version just released. Probably will change the weight slightly considering that the NFC chip will be present for payments, but we are talking about very few grams. We look forward to further news.
