After all the hype related to the imminent release on the market of the top of the range Mi Mix 3, Xiaomi spat the frog: the vertical scrolling smarphone will be accompanied, presumably after some time, by a version IF that is "Special Edition".
Recall that the Mi Mix series is the series that pioneers one of the most recent smarphone trends: superfluous thicknesses eliminated to create a device without frames and cuna consequent aspect ratio to the top.
With the following image we retrace the winning steps of the Mi Mix series from the beginning:
- Philippe Starck Design: the 22 May 2018, during the launch of Xiaomi in France, the brand unveiled its collaboration with the internationally renowned designer Philippe Starck for the 2S Mi Mix;
- George Pompidou Artistic and Cultural Center: the 14 September 2017 the French museum has decided to exhibit the Mi Mix in its collections;
- Gold medal of "IDEA design": among the highest awards in the reality of industrial design;
- Award "iF Design Award": 13 products including Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2 have won this award, awarded by an internationally renowned jury to the best for the best balance between dsesign and technology;
As with other devices, as mentioned before, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will also have a special edition that will make lethal combos (assumed) with vertical scrolling. The Chinese electronic producer, through the last post on Weibo, spoke of a customized version born from collaboration with the British Museum and developed jointly with Dunhuang Academy, a version that could be in white ceramic.
Currently Xiaomi has not reported any other details on the special white ceramic special edition, but we expect it to carry the 10 GB of RAM announced for the "base" version. Since last week Xiaomi has been teasing the upcoming Mi Mix 3 almost every day, so we hope that we will soon have more certain news.
We could hypothesize that this new version can be aesthetically similar to the "Mi Mix 2S Art Special Edition" that we report in the picture below.
