MIUI 11 will integrate its own app permission management system

As we know the MIUI 11 it becomes more and more mature, and with its growth the functions it supports also grow. Among these we have some curious, some poco useful for most users but others definitely needed especially when it comes to privacy. This is a very delicate key because, partly because of misinformation, partly through coercion, many users are inclined to give authorizations to applications that would basically not be needed. Xiaomi comes to meet us and brings on the last beta of MIUI 11 some really very interesting functions that we have also known with Android 10.

With MIUI 11 it will be possible to use a permit management system for "calibrated" and "customized" applications

As mentioned, the latest Chinese beta version brings us some interesting functions that, in a short time, we will be able to use also on stable versions. With version 20.3.17 the new update makes changes regarding the management of application permissions.

MIUI 11 will integrate its own app permission management system

In the update changelog that weighs 116 MB clearly refers to the "authorization management”Given by the system to applications. As we know, to make many apps work 100%, the user needs to give access to certain permissions that the same app requires: for example applications such as Instagram o Fecebook ask permission to access contacts as well as personal information. With Android 10, the possibility of "limiting" these permissions has been introduced by making sure that are required, for example, only when using the app. The features introduced in this MIUI 11 beta are similar. Here is the changelog:

  • added clipboard permissions to prevent applications from reading or tampering with what the user writes;
  • added support to the "Allow only in use" function for multiple permissions such as positioning / recording / camera / contacts / call history / calendar / writing to external memory;
  • added support to the function "Allow this time" authorization positioning / recording / photography;
  • added complete ban on background camera permissions.

miui 11.1

So also with regard to privacy Xiaomi is doing a really good job. As said, this update is out exclusively for the Chinese beta and therefore before we can see it even on devices with non-Chinese ROM and that do not support the beta, it will have to spend some time. In the meantime we can dream seeing what are the news that will come with the MIUI 12: in fact, in recent times there are several rumors about the dates relating to its release and the functions that he will bring with him.
