If a few days ago we told you about the abandonment of support for firmware updates of some Xiaomi / Redmi terminals, with today we tell you about the fact that the Chinese company is working on the release of MIUI 12.5 which could be the latest update of MIUI 12, or better to the beta as the developer team will focus on the future MIUI 13.
The announcement comes directly from Xiaomi through a post that appeared on the official Chinese community, thus suggesting that this version will be the starting point for the next MIUI 13. Confirming what the brand announced is the past history, as it is precisely the numbering 5 has always stopped the development of the current version of MIUI. We have in fact passed from MIUI 10.5 to MUI 11 which as soon as it arrived at the MIUI 11.5 version then gave rise to MIUI 12.
At the moment we still don't know what the changes we will find in the last update are, but considering what the development team said, important innovations and optimizations await us, as part of the preparations for MIUI 13.

Of course with the MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi will pause and suspend the Developer versions until we start with the tests of the new proprietary interface. So the deadline should be the next 14 December, the date on which the MIUI 13 firmware developments will officially start.
We are partly happy with what the company has communicated, but at the same time many are disappointed because after having longed for the landing of MIUI 12 on their terminals, there are still many bugs that afflict the terminals and that in some circumstances they have led the most savvy users to resort to the use of Custom ROM.
