As we know, MWC 2023, the annual technology conference that takes place in Barcelona, started yesterday. On the first day of the event, many phone manufacturers showcased their hottest devices, one of them is Motorola which showcased the promo rollable screen smartphone to the world, the Motorola Rizr.

According to the hands-on video released by the general manager of Lenovo's China business department, Motorola's roll-up concept phone is different from previous flip-screen phones. It is in fact rolled up vertically, whereas many other concept phones of the genre were rolled up horizontally.
On the plus side, the screen is shorter than regular phones when the phone is rolled up. Then just press a button on the side and the screen will slowly extend upwards. Looking at the device from the side, however, there is a problem with this design. When the screen is extended in landscape mode, which is the mode for watching videos and other “wide” content, the part of the screen remains extended without any protection. Making it very easy to break if dropped or if you forget open before resealing. Probably for this and many other reasons, it is only a concept phone and not a device that will be mass-produced.
Also, looking at the back of the phone, it turned out that there was half of the screen on the back of the phone. When the front of the screen scrolls up, the screen on the back scrolls down. The screen on the back can also be used to take photos, set dynamic expressions, etc. Also, the phone scrolls up and down while in use.
In any case, although Motorola has received many complaints about this concept phone, the shape of this concept phone is really interesting and still something to like in this field.
Finally, if the "Rizr" name sounds familiar to some of you, it's because the "Rizr" line is actually Motorola's line of slider phones. The first mobile phone was released in 2006 and was very popular at the time.
