It seems that flexible smartphones represent the future of telephony, judging by the number of renders depicting folding screen prototypes appearing on the web every week. Samsung recently filed a patent for a foldable smartphone, Lenovo showed a teaser of a device with the same characteristics poco before the IFA in Berlin and it seems that OPPO is also moving in this direction. As if that were not enough, today two renders appeared on the web showing a Xiaomi concept phone, equipped with a screen capable of flexing in every direction.
The renders, recently spotted on Baidu, do not seem to show the typical "tampering" signs of photo editing software and could therefore prove to be authentic. Despite this, it is not possible to prove its authenticity and the chances of seeing this device in the near future are extremely low. The biggest problems that slow down the development of devices with features like these are the difficulty in containing costs and mass production. We don't know if manufacturers will find an inexpensive and effective method to manufacture this type of smartphone. For now we are content with the dual curve design.
Forecasts aside, the display shown in the renders is stunning, thanks to the high color output and extreme image sharpness. We hope that the Mi Note 2 can also sport a display with the same level of detail, realistically not obtainable on a display capable of flexing.
