Today, during the Innovation Day event of Nio in Shanghai, the new one was presented Nio Phone2. Following the plan to release new phones on an annual basis, Nio is even ahead of schedule, considering that the first Nio Phone was launched only in September last year.
Nio Phone2 official: the EV manufacturer launches its new flagship
The Nio Phone2 maintains a similar design to the original model, but with high-level technical specifications. The main feature of the Nio Phone2 is its deep integration with the company's electric vehicle (EV) range. Like its predecessor, the Nio Phone2 features a dedicated button on the left side of the chassis to control the functions of the connected vehicle. Now, the long press action on this button can be customized to perform an action of your choice on your phone.
The Nio Phone2 can also act as a car key. The system incorporates UWB and Bluetooth for supported cars, making it safer. Additionally, UWB is expected to make it easier to find your car, as well as offer other convenience features such as automatically recording your car's location and parking number once parked. There is also support for NFC key.
Another interesting feature is Nio Link, which allows you to interact with your phone via the car's infotainment system. Support has been expanded to include more phone apps, including the gallery, file browser, various office apps, and chat clients.
As far as technical specifications go, the Nio Phone2 does not disappoint. It has a display from 6,82 inches, 2K, 120Hz, LTPO, Ultra HDR with a Samsung E7 OLED panel. It supports PWM brightness adjustment at 1440Hz between zero and 800 nits with a peak brightness of 2.600 nits. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The smartphone has a Sony LYT-T808 48MP main camera, a u882MP Sony IMX48 ltrawide and a tSony IMX890 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 2.6x zoom.
The device integrates a 5020mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. All this is packaged in a lightweight body available in a wide range of colors. The version with the back in vetro measures 8,6 mm thick and weighs 209 grams, while the premium ceramic version is 8,45 mm thick and weighs 226 grams.
The Nio Phone2 will be sold in China at price of 6499 Yuan, about 824 euros at the exchange rate.
