Often when we buy a smartphone, we do not think that we may have spent a bit of money but that the device we now own may not receive any updates, bug fixes, or transition to a more modern operating system. Instead, with some difficulties, Xiaomi has always supported its smartphones even those that are no longer in the official list.
Unfortunately, however, the time has come for Xiaomi to "abandon" some of their smartphones, in fact in MIUI's official release of the various updates to the latest version of the MIUI 9, it was also announced that by 16 November 2017 for 10 models will no longer be released to the Developer version of the various branches (Global or China). This decision is based on the fact that the various engineers can concentrate on the overall job optimization of the system for the remaining models that are beginning to be in large numbers.
In particular, the models that will no longer receive the update for the development release will be:
- My 2
- My 3
- Mi Note
- Mi Pad
- redmi 1
- redmi 1S
- redmi 2
- Redmi 2A
- Redmi Note 1
In fact, at least for the time being, the above models will continue to receive stable versions of future versions of MIUI 9.1 and MIUI 9.2, with the exception of the Redmi 1 model because the hardware is now very limited and obsolete.
Many may find this choice poco democratic and perhaps they will have to say in the negative, but personally we applaud Xiaomi which up to now has shown a strong propensity towards its users and terminals, but in the end we must look even further. In fact they are from poco updates to the new MIUI 9 are available for Mi 6, Mi Max 2, Mi Note 3 and Redmi 4X and that soon all the remaining models will receive the coveted update.

I read on an Italian xiaomi forum, that for the redmi 4 PRO there is no transition to MIUI 9 ... possible?
Maybe it's true for the official version. Personally use it for a couple of months and it's a wonder. For now I have the Miui9 build 7.10.26, but other 2 have already been released.
official version do you mean the global stable? I do not understand what sense it makes to develop beta roms when it does not evolve in stable ... boh I hope they update, in the end it is still very current indeed as hardware it also faces the latest xiaomi models (not top of the range clear)
The problem is our terminal which is no longer in production… apparently they have replaced it with the Redmi Note 4 with a 5,5 ”display. From the hardware characteristics they are the same. Besides, it seems that they will never update it to Android 7. Download and install it yourself the latest rom available from Miui.it, I recommend it ..
cabbage… thanks for the answer. but would I lose the italian and google play store?
Can not you know the source? (then you also explain what I wrote so reprehensible to delete the previous comment)
hi, personally i don't know what i'm referring to. in any case, the source is inserted at the bottom of the page so that you can verify that my article is not a hoax.
Source?
I can understand the other 9 but the Mi3 seems absurd to me it is still a current and very fast phone ...
unfortunately everyone does marketing strategies …………. go to understand.
But at least the mi3 lasted 4 years (it was marketed in 2013), the Mi Note, on the other hand, is of 2015.
