Discover two very useful new features in MIUI Beta

We all know how to use the MIUI Chinese beta can be used in preview many features (or at least have some clues) that will probably then be implemented in global devices. Yesterday we told you about the new function Dual Clock present in beta 9.8.5, which would allow precisely to display two clocks simultaneously in the home. Thanks to the team XDA but we find out that they are still there two far more interesting features and useful in this version of MIUI: it is a shortcut bar under the virtual keyboard of the device and of the "Dual WLAN acceleration". Let's see what it is in detail.

Discover two very useful new features in MIUI Beta

As said before, through a teardown carried out by the staff of XDA, we have the possibility to have some clues about these two features that we have never seen with the MIUI. First we find one shortcut bar under the virtual keyboard of the device, found through the following strings:

<string name="raise_bottom_height_of_keyboard">Enhanced</string>
<string name="raise_bottom_height_of_keyboard_sub_title">A bar with customizable shortcuts will appear under the keyboard if you switch to Enhanced mode</string>
<string name="raise_bottom_height_of_keyboard_title">Adjust keyboard to full screen display</string

This link bar will add some shortcuts very useful when typing. It is currently unknown which options can be accessed, but the team speculates, as it should be, of the "copy and paste" style links which would indeed be very useful. These shortcuts, they suggest, could also be used for quick launch of other apps, but it is quite unlikely.

The second feature that will make your mouth water for many of you is the connection Dual WiFi. Small parenthesis: this feature will be one of the strengths of the new Mediatek house SoC that we described a few days ago, so who knows, maybe we'll see these features soon with the release of a Redmi. Coming back to us, the team also found this clue in the strings below:

<string name="slavewifi">Dual WLAN</string>
<string name="slavewifi_disconnect">Disconnect</string>
<string name="slavewifi_notification_title">Dual WLAN acceleration</string>
<string name="slavewifi_settings">Tap to modify configuration</string>

In a nutshell this feature would give the user the chance to connect to two WiFi networks simultaneously with the result of a considerable boost in terms of browsing speed and then user experience. Not bad considering that such a situation would be very useful if it came out together with a device dedicated to gaming, like the one with the Soc Helio G90T.
