We have been talking about it for some time and today we can finally tell you everything about R9S and R9S Plus, new OPPO admirals. The two models come after the great success of the previous R9 series models, which have done very well in terms of sales in China and abroad, where they are known as OPPO F1 and F1 Plus. The two smartphones roughly maintain the design of the predecessors, the most relevant novelty is the new design of the antenna bands. The latter are very thin (0,3 mm) and are located on the back. The new positioning contributes to making the smartphone look more attractive and has made it possible to improve the reception of the Wi-Fi signal.
R9S mounts a 5,5 "Full HD display, 0,5" smaller than that of the "big brother". Both displays are protected by Gorilla Glass 5, which should ensure greater resistance in the event of a fall than previous generations. There are great improvements regarding the specifications. R9S mounts the Snapdragon 625 instead of the Helio P10, while R9S Plus mounts the new Snapdragon 653, which guarantees a 10% performance increase compared to the Snapdragon 652. OPPO focuses heavily on the photographic sector, as evidenced by the presence of the sensor on board Sony IMX398 from 16 Mpx, equipped with dual-core focus and f / 1.7 aperture. The difference between the two models lies in the image stabilization system, electronic in the R9S, optical in the R9S Plus. The front camera is also of excellent quality, thanks to the 16 Mpx available and the f / 2.0 aperture. R9S is powered by a 3010mAh battery, while on R9S Plus we find one from 4000mAh. Both devices feature VOOC fast charging technology, made famous by its predecessors. Moving on to memory, on the R9S there will be 4Gb of RAM and 64Gb of ROM, while on the R9S Plus there will be 64GB of ROM and 6 Gb of RAM. It will be possible to expand the memory up to 128 Gb, thanks to the microSD slot present on both smartphones.
On both devices there is the OPPO ColorOS operating system, now at version 3.0 and based on Android 6.0.1. The available colors will be gold, rose gold and black. To conclude, we inform you that the basic version is already available in China at 2799 (about 379 euros) while the Plus version will be sold starting from December at a cost of 3499 Yuan (poco less than 475 euros).
