Today is a special day for Xiaomi and for users who have decided to give it confidence, given that right now in Spain the official launch of two of the most anticipated products of the year is taking place: My Notes 10 and Redmi Note 8T. While the former is a camera champion thanks to its 108 megapixel (inside a pentacam), the other is yes a champion, but of price. Don't believe it? Then you see with us that a low-cost gem brought our beloved brand to Europe. Only at the end will we tell you the price.

Let's start by talking about the colors offered: we have three bright colors that are "Starscape Blue", "Moonlight White" and "Moonshadow Gray". Obviously, as a good habit, they are all provided with a particular gradient, particularly visible in the first color that passes from an electric blue above to a violet below.

We then continue with one of the characteristics that, despite the low price (yes, we will remember you until the end), has left you speechless: the photographic sector. This Redmi Note 8T is characterized by a quad camera formed as follows:

main sensor: Samsung GM1 from 48 megapixel, with pixel binning technology (4 pixel in 1) and pixel size 1.6 m;
second sensor: ultra-wide angle from 8 megapixel and pixel size 1.12 m;
third sensor: 2 megapixel depth and 1.75 pixel size microns;
fourth sensor: macro lens with 2 megapixel autofocus and 1.75 pixel size microns

What can I say, a noteworthy photographic sector with which we could actually make excellent quality shots without resorting to super cameras. As for the front camera instead, the one commonly used for selfies, we find a 13 megapixel sensor that incorporates different AI-related technologies including the sought after face unlock.

Then follows the presentation of the processor: we find, as we already knew, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC and a low power consumption CPU with 11nm production process, or Adreno 610. We will not have to worry about the consumption of this processor either thanks to the MIUI optimization and to the large 4000 mAh battery which allows to get (laboratory data) a standby use of more than two days.

But with regards to the battery and charger included we have a surprise: we knew that the Redmi Note 8T supported fast recharging at 18W, ie the 3.0 Quick Charge, but we did not expect that inside the pack there was already a charger that could hold such a power. Instead Xiaomi has decided to give us this beautiful surprise. Obviously, it is assumed that the attack to load the 4000 mAh will be the type-C.

Moving to the memory side instead, the device will come in two variants but initially we will find only one: the latter is from 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, while the second one that will arrive a little later will be from 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Inside the SIM trolley there will also be a slot for the microSD dedicated to the expandable memory up to 256 GB: all this translates into a very wide availability.

Now let's move on to the demands of the fans: yes, because we all know how Xiaomi is attentive to its users and listens to (or almost all) the requests of its fans. The brand has decided to satisfy them on two main points, namely the presence of the 3.5 mm audio jack and the IR sensor jack. They are usually placed in the upper part of the smartphone as we see in the following image.

And extending the discussion on the audio side, we have an improvement over the previous generation in terms of speaker cavities: the Redmi Note 8T has a greater width than the speaker audio cavity compared to Redmi Note 7, which changes from 0.64 cc to 0.93 cc , resulting in a substantial volume increase. Furthermore, the low frequencies have been amplified by 60% compared to the previous model.

We conclude with a very interesting slide that shows us all the differences with the Redmi Note 7. Basically, as we already know, the presence of the NFC for payments is different from the non-T version. Therefore we confirm what has been said previously.

The difference is in everything: improved camera, added macro and wide-angle lens, possibility to take panoramic photos, enhanced processor, increased screen-to-body ratio, wider audio cavity, splash resistance and NFC presence. So how much higher will the price be compared to the previous model? Not even a euro!
