In accordance to communicated by OnePlus to Android Police privately, the update to OxygenOS 12 has been retired for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro right in these hours. Below is the declaration:
We are aware of the problems caused by the OxygenOS 12 update and our software team is fixing them. We will be discontinuing this software update and will launch a new update as soon as possible
But what are these problems due to which we had to resort to blocking the update to OxygenOS? Many blame the Oppo-ification process or rather ColorOS-ification. In fact, we recall that Pete Lau's brand has literally merged with Oppo, a much larger sister company. This merger was not only "on paper" but also "smartphones": the two Android customizations are mixed in enough marriage to share the code.
