Oppo R9 and iPhone 6s prevail in offline sales in China

Online shopping is convenient. See what you want to buy, enter the required details, pay and wait for the order to arrive directly at your home. It is also possible to “look at the windows” of different shops without being bothered by too intrusive salesmen. However, there are many people who prefer to go to a real store and shop in the traditional way. Telephony manufacturers know that this type of sales offers large profit margins, which is why many brands focus heavily on sales that do not include the internet as a distribution channel.

Two companies that are doing very well in offline sales are OPPO and Apple. According to recent sales statistics from Sino-MR, a company that deals with market research, the OPPO R9 (known as OPPO F1 Plus outside China) and iPhone 6s are the phones that are leading the offline sales.

According to reports from OPPO, the R9 units sold in mid-June were 7 million. IPhone 6s is also doing incredibly well. Other smartphones that appear in the two charts are Vivo X7, Huawei P9 and Huawei Mate 8. Other companies, such as Xiaomi, which have not taken offline sales very seriously are now starting to do so. Xiaomi's CEO recently stated that the company intends to dramatically increase the number of stores in China, taking it from 25 to 1000 by the end of 2020.
