July has just ended, but a few days ago we were the victim of a resounding "April Fool", also badly organized, but the heat of this period from the head. In fact, just the other day we told you about the fact that a new Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted on the Geekbench database and that this mysterious device would have had the future Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. In fact, already this should have aroused considerable suspicion since Qualcomm's top CPU is still under development and therefore should not appear on the first scenes of the beginning of next year.

April Fool's Fish in August ... no 855 Snapdragon for the mysterious Xiaomi device

What perhaps got everyone into the trap is the fact that the device that appeared in the Geekbench database on July 27, reported the name Xiaomi SDM855 for arm64 doing so suppose to Qualcomm's CPU. In reality, the smartphone that reported this result in the Geekbench benchmark has a dowry 835 Snapdragon processor, therefore old of 2 years. In fact, by scrolling through the product information we find the msm8998 abbreviation which belongs to the SD835 chipset.

Snapdragon

Furthermore the scores are lower than those of the Snapdragon 845, seen on more top of the range this year, including Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S. In short, friends, sWe too have fallen into the media trap and therefore we apologize with your head bowed for this lack, but in any case we are happy to have brought clarity to the question. So my friends, no Snapdragon 855 for this year's Xiaomi devices, so you will have to wait for the 2019. We will look forward to the first chipset with process to 7 nm which promises a net increase in terms of efficiency and energy consumption, but above all it seems that it will improve the reception of the signal thanks to the new Snapdragon X24 modem.

look it's not safe. It could still fit the snapdragon 855. Doing the same smartphone twice would not make sense. So I expect news on the soc and room side. After all, they say that the snapdragon 2 is already in production (from February I think?), The same goes for the new CMOS sensor from sony, the IMX855. Who knows
