Since the company POCO has decided to take its own steps alone, detaching itself from the protective wing of Xiaomi, its success has skyrocketed, thanks also to the presentation of devices that have always placed themselves at the top of sales in the category of belonging. The formula for success remains the same, that is smartphones characterized by an excellent quality / price ratio, so users can hardly find valid alternatives.
We all remember the first and glorious success of the brand, namely the POCOPHONE F1, which debuted in a market where the so-called top of the range were offered at absurd prices and often over budget for the many users who love technology. Nevertheless POCOPHONE F1, stripping off all the superfluous, was able to offer top-of-the-range performance and hardware at a mid-range price. But then why has a true successor never come to light, namely the POCO F2?
The rumors of a successor have been many as well as the leaks, but the wait has never been rewarded, because POCO F2 it only came on the market as a Pro variant, which as good as it was did not really impress. Nevertheless POCO F2 it existed, it was real, but only in the form of a prototype, which you can admire in the images below.

POCO F2 it should have been the global version of Redmi K20S, whose design was similar to that of other Xiaomi smartphones of the time, i.e. punch hole in the corner on the display and rear cameras in a vertical module that also housed a fingerprint reader.
The rest of the technical specifications consisted of an AMOLED display in Full HD + resolution while the processor would be confirmed in the good Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with Adreno 640 GPU, refuting the rumors that indicated a simpler chip like the Snapdragon 732G.
It is useless to dig into the details of the software and MIUI version, in order not to harm us, as POCO F2 it would have been an excellent smartphone, a worthy rival to many top of the range of the time. So why has the company never taken courage to launch it on the market?
We do not have a precise answer, but only hypotheses, among which the most established refers to the fact that Xiaomi was not confident enough in the idea of pushing a sub-brand, as POCO F2 he allegedly cannibalized the devices of Lei Jun's company, something that is actually already happening nowadays.
