POCO F2 Pros: Widevine certified problems, here's how to solve

The latest model of the Xiaomi sub brand POCO F2 Pro has problems. You would never have guessed that considering the build quality and hardware equipment. In fact, the problem he is experiencing is at the software level and is giving a lot of annoyance to those users who are fond of streaming platforms such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. The gripe is about certification Widevine L1, the one that allows you to see streaming content in HD: there was one relegation from L1 to L3 and the reason is still unclear. However, there is a way to solve it, we explain it below.

Widevine certification on POCOPHONE F2 Pro recedes: MIUI 12 does not allow you to see streaming content in HD resolution

Based on user testimonials on the Mi Community global, following the update to MIUI 12 which has now arrived on POCO F2 Pro in the European, Indonesian, Russian and global versions, there was one relegation of certifications. As we know to see the HD content on streaming platforms like Netflix there is a need for certification Widevine L1. The device in question had it but after the update it is dropped to L3, preventing users from viewing streaming content in high definition.

The problem we see above seems to affect only the global versions of the device, leaving the European version free from any problem. In particular, the MIUI version that sees this relegation is the 12.0.1.0.QJKMIXM. A community moderator said the developers are already aware of the issue and therefore will soon release a fixed. To confirm the fact that only the global version is affected there is the testimony of a user with ROM EU, who shared a screenshot showing that his device has Widevine L1 certification. If you also have the same problem, there is a solution. To return to Widevine L1 certification just follow these steps:

  • going up "Settings" come on "Password and security";
  • tap on "Impronta digital"And then on"Payment by fingerprint";
  • touch "Widevine L1"And see what message arrives: if it says"Not available"Then tap on"Certificate". At this point you should receive a message confirming the refresh with the consequent certificate update.

If you have the same problem please let us know if the solution works or, if not, what are the messages the system gives you.
