Xiaomi seems to be working on the next generation of smartphones in the series POCO F, despite the recent announcement of models POCO F6. As reported Gizmochina, the new devices have been spotted in the IMEI database, suggesting that the launch of the series POCO F7 is expected in about a year, probably in the month of May 2025.
POCO F7 Pro Global: Appears officially for the first time
The top model of the new series, the POCO F7 Pro, promises to introduce significant improvements and innovative features compared to its predecessor POCO F6 Pro. Although the technical details remain shrouded in mystery, it is reasonable to expect that the POCO F7 Pro is equipped with the powerful chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen3, an evolution compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 present in the F6 Pro.
It is interesting to note how the POCO F7 Pro share it same hardware with the Redmi K80, intended exclusively for the Chinese market. Both devices, in fact, are identified by the code "24122RKC7", with the only difference in the final letter: "G" for the global model POCO F7 Pro and "C" for the Chinese variant Redmi K80. This rebranding strategy is now consolidated for Xiaomi, which aims to offer products adapting them to the needs of different international markets.

Although an official launch date has not yet been announced, it is reasonable to assume that the POCO F7 Pro will see the light in May 2025, exactly one year after the debut of POCO F6 Pro. As for the Chinese "twin" Redmi K80, its presentation event could take place a few months earlier, presumably in November 2024 together with Xiaomi 15.
A fascinating detail that emerged concerns the code name given to the POCO F7 Pro and Redmi K80: “miro”. This reference takes inspiration from the famous Spanish painter Joan Miró. The tribute is part of Xiaomi's tradition of associating i code names their devices to famous artists, a touch of class that makes the wait for these new smartphones even more intriguing.
