After launching the new ones POCO F4 and POCO X4 GT last month, Xiaomi's sub-brand now seems intent on launching a low-end smartphone, the POCO M5.
POCO M5 caught on the IMEI database: new entry-level very close to launch
The smartphone has in fact just been caught on the IMEI database and has also been spotted on several certification sites, which suggests that the device could be launched soon.
We point out that the POCO M4 had been discovered by Xiaomiui in the MIUI source code with the model number 22071219CG and the code name "Rock and Stone". Today, after looking up the model number on the IMEI database, it transpired that this will be next Poco M5.
As if that weren't enough, a device with the same model number has been spotted on various certification sites including FCC, BIS, and IMDA. These certifications showed us that the smartphone will run on the MIUI 13 operating system based on Android 12. It will support 2,4GHz and 5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi and it has also been revealed that the Poco M5 will be a 4G device.
In any case, the POCO M5 will be accompanied by the POCO M5s, another terminal already spotted on the IMDA certification site recently. According to several rumors, the POCO M5s is expected to be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 10S, which means it will be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G95 processor, along with a 6,43-inch AMOLED display offering Full HD + resolution.
Furthermore, the Poco The M5s could come with a total of four cameras on the back, including a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP sensors. Finally, the device will be powered by a 5000mAh battery and will support 33W fast charging.
