Xiaomi spoiled us quite a bit in the months of January and February with the release of a good number of Android smartphones, starting with the Redmi Note 7, passing through the Xiaomi Mi 9 and ending with the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE. Unfortunately, however, as far as the Windows side is concerned, that is, laptops or tablets with the Microsoft operating system, we have not yet seen any updates in the catalog of the Chinese giant.
Well, apparently this situation is not destined to remain so in the weeks (or months) to follow. Thanks to an online benchmark, we can in fact assume that the launch of a new Xiaomi laptop is just around the corner.
New Xiaomi laptop coming with Intel Core i5-8265U
As you can see in the image above, a device codenamed “Timi TM1814” was found on the popular benchmark site GeekBench. From the screenshot we learn several details, such as the operating system, that is Windows 10 64-bit, the amount of RAM of 8GB and the Intel ID3E34 processor which after a quick online search turns out to be the Intel Core i5-8265U.
The score obtained in the benchmark is in line with other laptops equipped with the same CPU, i.e. 4412 points in single-core mode, while in multi-core mode it reaches up to 12414 points.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air
Unfortunately, apart from the next-generation Intel processor and the amount of RAM (8GB) we know very little. The next Xiaomi laptop could therefore be either a light and thin device like the Mi Notebook Air with a 13-inch screen, or a Mi Notebook Pro with a 15,6″ display and why not, it could even be a less attractive but cheaper laptop like the latest Xiaomi Mi Notebook. However, we think we will exclude something like the 12,5″ Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air which usually has less performing hardware.
Not having other official information, we just have to wait and hope for something very interesting. Knowing Xiaomi seems to us very likely then we cross the fingers!
How come Xiaomi doesn't make an 2-1? 🙁
