If you are a lucky owner of the Mijia QiCycle EF1, Xiaomi's pedal assisted bicycle, you will have surely noticed that with the stock firmware the electrical assistance stops intervening at 20km / h (limit imposed in China). With the app International QiCycle, depending on the model, it is possible to bring this limit to 25km / h via a software update.

Unfortunately, not all models (including mine) have received this update, but it is now possible to force the installation or even use a custom firmware to bring the speed limit to 29km / h through the application created by Christopher
Installation and configuration of the QiCycle application
- Download from the Playstore and install theQiCycle application of Christopher.
- Associate your Google account from the menu at the top left and click on "Click to access"
- Associate your QiCycle with the + button and frame the QrCode of your bike
Firmware selection
In the field Motor, the middle value of the string reports the version number. The firmware limited to 20km / h is 015. It is possible to install the Custom MC 019 to bring the limit to 29km / h or alternatively use the official firmware 017 to bring the limit to 25km / h.
- Go to the "Other" screen
- Click on the blue button with the arrows at the bottom right
- Select the category on the left Custom MC
- Select the file on the right side MC_005019000_CF.bin
Firmware installation
- Confirm the installation by clicking on "Accept"
- Click on the circular button at the bottom right (arrow up)
- Confirm the update again
- It will now start sending the file to the bicycle. Keep the phone near this.
- A message will confirm the successful transmission of the file
Updating the QiCicle
- Confirm the update by clicking on the UP arrow
- During the update there is no progress indicator but only a warning screen. Wait for (about 5 minutes) to disappear and the software will reboot.

Version 017 (limit at 25km / h) suffers from the same problem but to a lesser extent.

Finaly got round to giving it another go. I installed the 017 with no problem & found a great improvement in power so I thought what the heck I'll go for the 019 which again insalled no problem at all. I can now achieve 27kmh with only 50% battery. So now is the time to stick it on charge & then try again. Thanks again for the guide & to Christopher who developed the app. AAA +

hi I have the European qicycle I can't connect the app to the bike I can't find the QR nowhere also the bike computer doesn't seem to have the BT and appears to remain fixed in ECO mode does anyone know anything more?

Actualicé a esta versión y mejoró considerably la velocidad de mi Qicycle, llego unos 15 min antes recorriendo unos 11 kms a mi trabajo, sin embargo ..., se desconfiguró el indicador de batería en la pantalla led (aunque puedo revisar si está cargada la batería con el medidor que está en la base de la batería) y la luz trasera no funciona (será comprar una externa) digo estas soluciones porque honestly me dejó a gusto el que augmentara between 4 y 5 kms / h la velocidad, antes sentía la restricción de 21 kms / h en las piernas, y ahora con nada de esuerzo... hola… I keep the bicicleta actualizada, pero de un día para otro sale el bluetooth desconectado, entry to the menu y lo dejo activo… pero nada.
Ademas antes en 13k gastaba 50% de bateria y ahora 70%… porq sera ?.

Thanks for this guide. I managed to screw up on my first try & thought I'd bricked my bike but had another go & got it back on the stock firmware. I'll start again soon & install the 017 version next.

With 50% battery actually pushing up to 25km / h finally!
With 100% battery you should also get to 29km / h
Tested on 100% battery, the engine assists up to 27.5 km / h but in 4km I knocked down the battery by 17% in turbo mode ... It means that the autonomy is reduced quite a bit
