Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 officially unveiled

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 features a Octa-core CPU with 4 performance-oriented 78GHz Cortex-A2,4 cores and 4 efficiency-oriented 55GHz Cortex-A1,8 cores. On the GPU front, it uses theAdreno 710, which provides good graphics performance for its price range. This chipset supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, providing greater flexibility to smartphone manufacturers². It also supports UFS 3.1 storage, which provides faster read and write speeds than previous standards.

One of the main differences between the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is the supported display refresh rate. While the 7s Gen 2 can handle FHD+ resolution displays at 144Hz, the 6 Gen 3 stops at 120Hz. This limitation may not be significant for many users, but it still represents a technical difference between the two chips.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 also supports a wide range of connectivity technologies, including Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring a stable and fast connection. As for photographic capabilities, the chipset can handle sensors up to 200 MP and supports the 4K HDR video recording at 30 fps. This makes it a solid choice for mid-range smartphones that aim to deliver good photography performance.

Another interesting aspect of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is the support for improved AI technologies, which can be used for tasks such as activity tracking and noise cancellation during calls. This chipset is built on a 4-nanometer manufacturing process, which helps improve power efficiency and overall performance.
