Engwe P1 Review – Practical and economical, you fold it up and take it everywhere
La Engwe P1 it is a compact and foldable electric bicycle, ideal for urban travel and short excursions. I tried it for two weeks in all conditions and I'm ready to give you my opinion which - I can tell you in advance - is super positive.

Design and Construction
The Engwe P1 bicycle is built with an aluminum alloy frame, guaranteeing resistance, lightness and durability maximum load of 120 Kg, a good indicator of build quality. The compact size and foldable design make it easy to carry and store, perfect for those with limited space or who need to use public transportation.

Motor and Battery
Equipped with a 250W brushless rear wheel hub motor, the Engwe P1 offers a maximum speed of 25 km/h which can be unlocked at 35 km/h, making it illegal in Italy. The "only" 40Nm of torque still offers a brilliant acceleration, probably thanks to the smaller rims which reduce resistance. It allows you to tackle climbs with slopes of 10°, but also higher with the help of your legs obviously.
There are 5 levels of assistance available that limit the speed at various steps. It is possible to install the accelerator supplied in the package to take advantage of the electric-only mode which, however, is not permitted in Italy.
La 36V 13Ah battery it is neither powerful nor large, but it is still adequate for the urban use for which this bicycle is designed. The small, low-energy motor, combined with a weight of only 25 km, guarantees an estimated autonomy of 100 km using assisted pedaling but real close to 60 km and up to 45 km in electric only.
Tires and Comfort
I 20 x 2.3 inch tires, therefore wider than the typical 2.1, offer excellent stability and grip on various types of terrain, while the suspension fork ensures a comfortable ride even on bumpy roads.
There is no solution for the rear, but the large and comfortable saddle cushions enough and partially makes up for this lack.
Safety
The bicycle is equipped with 16cm front and rear disc brakes with mechanical calipers, which guarantee effective and safe braking. Furthermore, it is equipped with front and rear lights to improve visibility in low light conditions. The rear light also acts as a braking light which is very important for use on busy roads.

La Engwe P1 is a versatile electric bicycle, perfect for those looking for an ecological and practical means of transport. It can be folded and transported anywhere allowing us to enjoy it in many situations.
Thanks to the good technical equipment, it offers a good level of safety and excellent comfort. Despite the small engine, it offers fun performance as long as it is on flat terrain.
