Redmi smartphone with quad camera from 64MP on the way?

As we said rightly yesterday, the Xiaomi sub-brand - Redmi - began to tease our interest with the first photo taken from a device whose name we do not yet know. The photo was shared to make us understand that the smartphone in question will have a rear camera from 64MP well, so definitely beyond the now "standard" 48MP of many terminals on the market.

In addition to the 64MP image, which had a resolution of 9248 x 6936 and a file size of 19,3MB to be precise, a post also came from Lu Weibing, that is Redmi's general manager and Xiaomi vice president. Weibing has in fact shared a screenshot taken directly on the much talked about device, inside the photo capture application (image below).

In the screenshot we can admire the next official Xiaomi site called Xiaomi Science Park, but the most interesting data is the one we see below, or the way to take photos at the very high resolution of 64MP.

It doesn't end here though. Following the Chinese brand has revealed more details regarding the photographic sector of this next device. The smartphone will in fact not only have a rear camera from 64MP, but also three other cameras on the back for a total of four. This would be a first for Xiaomi that until now has produced devices with "only" three rear cameras. Xiaomi then added that the photos taken will have a maximum size of 20MB and a resolution higher than that of 8K TVs.

Although the sensor from 64MP is officially still an unknown factor, the only option currently on the market is that produced by Samsung, with ISOCELL Bright GW1.

From a technical point of view, the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor has an area of 1 / 1,72 inches and a pixel size of 0.8μm. Like its predecessor, the ISOCELL GM1, the Gw1 also uses Tetracell technology and re-mosaic algorithms that allow you to take photos from 64MP in optimal light conditions, while in the dark or in low light, 4 pixels are merged to increase the sensitivity and decrease noise in photos.

Even if we already know the image sensor of this hypothetical device, it is still early to understand what series of traits. That said, perhaps the most sensible theory would be the one that gives it to the next Redmi Note 8, especially since the Redmi Note 7 equips the sensor of the previous generation, the ISOCELL GM1.

But where do you think the new Samsung sensor is used? Notes 8 or a new Redmi series? Let us know in the comments section below!
