The Redmi 7A announced in China in late May and brought to Italy in mid-July is the cheapest Redmi smartphone currently in circulation, with regards to the devices released in the 2019. Despite this, the Xiaomi sub-brand does not seem to snub it but instead thanks the users with new updates that make the smartphone even more interesting for low-cost photography lovers.
Redmi has in fact released a new update that adds Portrait and AI Scene Detection, let's discover them together!
Redmi 7A updated with Portrait Mode and AI Scene Detection
The portrait mode, as some of you will know, is the one that allows us to take a portrait (portrait in English) of a person making it a little more appealing. This thanks to the bokeh effect (or background blur) added automatically after taking the photo. And yes, the bokeh effect can be reproduced even without the presence of two cameras, but an algorithm is used that is able to distinguish the subject from the background and blur the latter.
It will be possible to use Portrait mode both with the rear camera from 12MP and the front one from 5MP, so you can take both great photos of your friends and quality selfies.
As for the AI Scene Detection mode instead, as the name suggests we are talking about a feature that serves to identify the various scenarios in front of the lens thanks to the use of artificial intelligence. There are a total of 33 categories divided into different profiles including: environment, scenes, plants and lifestyle.
Both Portrait and AI Scene Detection modes are included in the latest MIUI 10.2.7.0 update, which also includes several bug fixes and security patches updated in July 2019.
Finally, remember that, as always, the updates are released in installments and it is therefore impossible to know when you will receive it on your specific terminal.
