About a month ago we had reported the Redmi 8 which had become somewhat muted one of the best-selling smartphones in the world, second only to the Samsung Galaxy A51. Well, today its success has also been officially confirmed by the company on the Chinese social network Weibo.
Redmi 8 Series: Over 19 million units sold globally
As we can see in the image above, the Redmi 8 series would have sold over 19 million units globally. But let us note that it is the whole series and not the Redmi 8 solo. The Redmi 8 series also includes the Redmi 8A, Redmi 8A Dual and Redmi 8A Pro, depending on the markets.
We quickly remember that the Redmi 8 arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 as a processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The device also adopts a 6,22-inch diagonal display, HD + resolution and rounded top notch. The screen is then covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 as well as in the back available in three colors: Sapphire Blue, Onyx Black and Ruby Red.
Also at the rear there is a fingerprint reader and two cameras; with the main 12MP (Sony IMX363 sensor) with focal aperture f / 1.8 and secondary with a resolution of 2MP used to take photos with the bokeh effect (object in focus, blurred background).
Finally, the autonomy is one of the best thanks to a 5000mAh battery and support for fast charging at 18W (Quick Charge 3.0) through the modern USB Type-C port. Other specifications include the 3,5mm audio jack, support for FM radio and an infrared ray emitter.
The Redmi 8A is almost identical to the Redmi 8, but instead of the two 12MP and 2MP cameras we only find one, always 12MP. Also missing is the fingerprint sensor under the two optical sensors.
In any case, tomorrow Redmi will announce the new Redmi 9 in China. The smartphone will be identical to the Redmi 9 presented in Europe but with more RAM and storage.
