A few days ago we had anticipated it and today it has been announced, even if with a different name than what has been programmed, we are clearly talking about the new Redmi 8A Dual.
Redmi 8A Dual presented in India, a Redmi 8A with dual rear cameras
The differences between the Redmi 8A Dual and the Redmi 8A mainly lie in the photographic sector, as the addition of the word "Dual" suggests. The new entry-level smartphone adopts two rear cameras instead of the single one present on Redmi 8A.
Going into detail, we discover that the Dual version adopts two cameras with 13MP and 2MP resolution. Unfortunately, however, although the number of pixels is slightly higher in the main camera (13MP vs 12MP), the sensor used on the Dual version seems less performing and with a worse focal aperture (f / 2.2 vs F / 1.8). The second sensor is also dedicated to capturing depth data to take photos with bokeh effect, a feature that can be technically recreated via software (something already done by Xiaomi among other things).
As for the other specifications, these seem to remain unchanged compared to the predecessor. We therefore find a 6,22-inch diagonal screen with HD + resolution and a higher "Dot Notch" inside which we have an 8MP camera.
The smartphone is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 439, supported by 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable via micro SD slot).
There is also the large 5000mAh battery with support for fast charging up to a power of 18W, through the USB Type-C port located at the bottom. So the three factors that made the Redmi 8A a best buy have remained unchanged, fortunately.
Finally, from a price point of view, the Redmi 8A Dual in the 2GB / 32GB version is sold in India at 6499 rupees (€ 84), while the variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory costs 6999 Rupees (€ 90).
