New version of the Redmi A1 with MediaTek Helio P35 caught on the FCC website

Apparently Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi is planning to bring upgrades for its latest entry-level device with Android Go, the Redmi A1. In fact, according to the Xiaomiui website, a new device with model number 23026RN54G would have just appeared in the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) database.

Unfortunately at the moment we don't have any information on the final commercial name of the device, but the leak suggests that it could be an improved version of the Redmi A1 / A1+.

In fact, one of the documents available on the FCC website explains the difference between the Redmi with model number 23026RN54G and the one with model number 220733SL. We already know that the second belongs to the Redmi A1 and the main difference with the 23026RN54G device is that the latter has a more powerful chipset.

The FCC page confirms that the device with model number 23026RN54G will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 chip, while as we know the Redmi A1 is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22. So from that point of view, the “23026RN54G” device will perform better than the A1.

In another image we have instead the confirmation that the 23026RN54G device will be a variant of the Redmi A1. This should suggest that aside from the chipset, the rest of the specs could be identical on both models.

So let's recap the specifications of the Redmi A1 which comes with a 6,52-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution. For photos, we find a 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel dual camera setup on the back. The device powered by Helio A22 accompanied by 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Then we find a 5.000 mAh battery with support for 10 W charging and runs with Android 12 Go. We also remember that the Plus version adds a fingerprint sensor on the back.
