Today Xiaomi officially introduced the Redmi A5 (4G) in Indonesia, expanding the availability of this budget smartphone after its offline debut in Bangladesh earlier this month.

The smartphone is equipped with a large display from 6,88 inches with a resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels, which guarantees a density of 260 ppi. The screen supports a refresh rate up to 120 Hz for improved visual fluidity and reaches a brightness of 450 nits, offering good readability even in bright environments. The Redmi A5 measures 171,7 x 77,8 x 8,26 mm and weighs 193 grams, giving a feeling of solidity without being excessively heavy.
The Redmi device is powered by the Unisoc T7250 processor, an octa-core solution built on a 12nm process and with a maximum frequency of 1,8 GHz. This chip is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage of the eMMC 5.1 type, expandable via a microSD card.
The photographic compartment of the Redmi A5 includes a front camera from 8 MP for selfies and video calls, while on the back there is a 32 MP main camera, accompanied by a LED flash. The Android 15 operating system (Go Edition), with customized interface, offers a simple and optimized user experience for entry-level devices.
Among the security and convenience features, the Redmi A5 integrates a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI facial recognition. Connectivity options include dual SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz-5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, and a headphone jack from 3,5 mm. Additionally, the device is protected by SCHOTT Xensation α glass, which ensures resistance and durability.
The battery has one capacity of 5200mAh and supports 15W fast charging via USB Type-C port, ensuring long battery life and efficient charging.
The Redmi A5 is available in Indonesia in a single 4GB + 128GB configuration and in three color options. elegant: Midnight Black, Sandy Gold and Lake Green. The official price is IDR 1.199.000 (around 67 euros), making it a highly competitive choice in the budget smartphone segment.
According to some speculations, the Redmi A5 could be rebranded as Poco C71 in other markets.
