Redmi Buds 3 Lite - Review, Price and Specs

Are you always looking for the best quality / price ratio even in the field of TWS headphones? Well, the Redmi Buds 3 Lite arrive on the market, now saturated, winking at all those who are not purely nerds, thus offering a decidedly "easy" product in functions and specifications, without sacrificing sound fidelity typical of more headphones. PREMIUM. Let's find out together in this review.

DESIGN, COMFORT AND BATTERY LIFE

If once there was the crowd in researching headphones similar to the style of Apple, for some time it is the ultra-compact earphones that dictate fashion and the new Redmi Buds 3 Lite belong to this category. They have a round shape except for a silicone fin which allows them to better fit into the ear, disappearing when you wear them.

Feeling of comfort to such an extent that you could also wear them to fall asleep listening to good music. The Redmi Buds 3 Lite have a touch surface with which to issue commands, but I'll tell you about this later, as well as a small monochromatic LED that certifies its operation. Magnetic pogo pins for charging the earphones that integrate a 36 mAh battery, are the only element present on these earphones except for the only microphone for call use. In this regard, at moderate volumes the Redmi calibrated earphones last about 6 hours while at maximum volume, the autonomy drops to 5 hours per single charge, while the compass gives further 3 recharges, thus bringing the general autonomy to 20/24 hours. total, based on a 310 mAh battery that is recharged in turn by means of a USB Type-C cable, but no wireless charging.

The Redmi Buds 3 Lite are also certified IP54, therefore resistant to water and dust, thus allowing you to wear them even in indoor and outdoor sports. And thanks to the rubber, which are not at all annoying, the headphones will always remain stable inside the ears, but their function is also useful for better grasping the earphones from the charging seat of the box.

I liked the charging box poco in terms of materials, too cheap, so much so that after a few hours of use I found myself with the case full of scratches and impregnated with dirt and fingerprints. For the rest, the shape is pebble and on the front we have a single monochromatic LED that certifies the state of charge, while the Type-C charging port is positioned on the bottom. The lid closes fairly sturdy while also counting on a reliable magnet, but the hall sensor is not present, so the headphones will only pair with the smartphone when they are outside their seat.

CONTROLS AND CONNECTIVITY

The controls of Redmi Buds 3 Lite are of the touch type but unfortunately poco smart and not complete. In fact, we cannot control the volume in addition to the fact that the responsiveness of touch recognition is not exactly the best. As mentioned, the control scheme is limited, indeed I specify that for example the skip of the music track occurs only for the next one and not the previous one. In any case, I outline the commands imparted to the Redmi Buds 3 Lite as follows:

  • Long press 1,5s on the right / left headphones to play / pause the multimedia track;
  • Double tap on right / left headphones to go to the next song;
  • Triple tap on the right / left headset to activate the voice assistant;
  • Long press on both earbuds to activate / deactivate game mode.

Of course, the touch controls can also be used for calls, so answer, hang up and reject a call. Furthermore, the sensor for automatic play / pause is absent when the headset is extracted from the ear, leading us to confirm that in this context the Redmi product is really Lite, too much. For the connection to the smartphone, a Bluetooth 5.2 is used which gives stability, reliability and reduced latency, up to 10 meters even at home, while the compatibility of the Redmi Buds 3 Lite is guaranteed both with Android and iOS, since we do not have no app supplied, so we do not hope for future updates.

CALLS AND MULTIMEDIA

I mentioned the game mode, but in all honesty I have not found great benefits in activating it or not, so the Redmi Buds 3 Lite do not lend themselves so much to gaming, while they are excellent in the use of videos, films and TV series, with a perfect synchronization between audio and video.

For calls in general, the voice is always clear and crystalline, well audible by our interlocutor as long as you are not in too noisy environments and / or in any case in the presence of wind, as the single microphone really struggles to suppress the noise. environmental, especially in backwind situations. But I don't completely budge them, because they are more than valid for calls in the car, at the gym, at the shopping center but I would not rely on important conversations, for example on the subway.

AUDIO QUALITY FOR MUSIC BY REDMI BUDS 3 LITE: CLEAR

If you are a lover of genres with deep, full-bodied and warm low tones, then the Buds are for you. Despite the 6 mm driver, Redmi's solution knows how to be appreciated especially in musical genres that push on drums and bass in general, such as electronic music. This does not mean that we cannot appreciate genres such as jazz, on the contrary, the highs and mids are in perfect harmony with the full-bodied lows that the Redmi Buds 3 Lite give us.

The listening volume is also quite high and at the maximum level the sounds do not distort. Put simply, the music you listen to always has a clear audio, such as to allow you to differentiate the various instruments present in a track and the various effects coming from the left and right channels.

Redmi Buds 3 Lite - Price and conclusions

Redmi's proposal in the TWS field is undoubtedly valid, even if it must be admitted that there are now many valid alternatives in circulation, which sometimes also offer more features, such as wireless charging, for the same price. But then why recommend the Redmi Buds 3 Lite? I can say that the brand is a guarantee but above all it will pay off over time, as the battery will not show signs of abating after 1/2 years and therefore the investment made today will not force you to change product in a few months, to as long as you are not super geeks who like to try out every type of headset out there.

7.9 Total score
REDMI BUDS 3 LITE

For less than 30 euros, the Redmi Buds 3 Lite offer crisp sound, good call quality and more than enough battery life to tackle a work week. The only drawback, the presence of a single microphone and the decidedly cheap case materials.

Nerd, Geek, Netizen, terms that do not belong to me. Simply myself, technology lover and provocative as Xiaomi does with his products. High quality at fair prices, a real provocation for the other most famous brands.
