The Redmi Buds 4 continue with the elegant style of the Airdots 3 Pro in design, with a simple and compact charging compartment.
Compared to the previous generation, the most obvious difference between the Buds 4 is that it has added active noise cancellation at an entry-level price for the first time.
The Redmi Buds 4 support an active noise reduction of 35dB, and there are three options for use: light, balanced and deep. It also supports two modes of adaptive noise reduction and double transparent noise reduction, making them suitable for more situations.
In terms of sound quality, the headphones use a large 10mm moving coil unit and an ultra-thin 0,006mm diaphragm, supports traditional audio encoding formats such as SBC and AAC, and offers better sound field performance at high and low frequencies.
In terms of battery life, when noise reduction is off, the Buds 4 can be used for 6 hours at a time, and the theoretical maximum use time with the charging bay can reach 30 hours.
In other respects, features such as quick pop-ups in MIUI, in-ear monitoring, anti-loss reminder, smartphone search and low-latency games are also available on the Buds 4.
Moving on to the Redmi Buds 4 Pro, these are the new Redmi-branded high-end TWS headphones and come with an increased noise reduction depth to 43 dB. They support double transparency mode, in addition to basic transparency mode. There is also a two-step voice enhancement and they can also be used in the office. In fact, in the voice enhancement mode, it can not only filter out ambient noise, to work quietly and comfortably, but also meet the need for normal communication.
The Buds 4 Pro also support smart wind noise removal and are equipped with a hardware-type windproof metal mesh, which can greatly reduce the wind energy before the wind enters the microphone. As for sound quality, the new headphones use hardware that effectively expands the overall frequency response range, making the highs clearer and the bass deeper. Combined with the brand's lab-tuned Xiaomi Deeply software, the TWS earbuds perform well in a variety of genres.
We also note that this is the first time that Redmi's headphones have supported virtual surround sound. In particular, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro adopt the self-developed algorithm of Xiaomi Audio Lab.
