At the Redmi conference held in September, the Chinese brand launched the Redmi Buds 3, a pair of TWS headphones with a crowdfunding price that was only 159 yuan, about 21 euros at the exchange rate. That crowdfunding then raised a total of 10 million yuan (over 1,3 million euros) raised, thus becoming a great success in the Asian country.
Redmi Buds3 Youth Edition presented: the new compact and super cheap TWS headphones arrive
Well, today at the series launch conference Redmi Note 11, the sub brand of Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Buds3 Youth Edition, always TWS headphones which, as the name suggests, are even cheaper and have a price of only 99 yuan, about 13 euros at the exchange rate.
Going to the hardware, while the Redmi Buds 3 used a long stem design similar to Apple's AirPods, the Redmi Buds3 Youth Edition have no stem, but a more rounded and compact shape.
Furthermore, the newly developed charging box of the Redmi Buds3 Youth Edition earphones is smaller and has a better grip, at least according to the official release. A unique design called "cat's ear" is also used to further improve stability and comfort during use.
The new earphones then adopt the Bluetooth 5.2 transmission protocol, which is a faster and more stable connection technology. There is also an updated chip that brings higher audio performance.
For the rest, the Redmi Buds 3 Youth Edition adopt 36 mAh batteries, for up to 5 hours of autonomy. With the 315mAh charging pack, it can reach up to 18 hours of battery life. Additionally, the Buds3 Youth Edition packaging has also upgraded charging to a USB Type-C port to further enhance charging convenience.
Finally, Redmi's TWS headphones support touch operation, noise reduction during calls, low latency mode and IP54 waterproofing.
