Who remembers Redmi's long-awaited flagship? We certainly yes and probably also very many of you, fans of the Asian brand. We speak in particular of the smartphone that we expected to see in recent months, or a Redmi with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor that then would have to compete with the top of the house Xiaomi, the Mi 9.
Well, despite this elusive Redmi flagship has disappeared from the web, there are still people who believe in it and that, at least in China, does nothing but continue to ask Redmi's boss for an account.

Apparently, however, the user was not entirely wrong, Lu Weibing's answer to the question "So what happened to this flagship with Snapdragon 855?" Is indeed quite interesting. The president of the sub-brand would have said "I don't want to kill hopes". So, although this does not mean that the top of the neo-brand range is just around the corner, it certainly gives us hope for the future.
Returning to a few months ago, it was the president of Xiaomi in person, Lei Jun, who started these rumors. On the Chinese social network, Weibo had revealed that Redmi was developing a device with the Snapdragon 855 on board. That would have been the first time for the Redmi series / brand and that it would become (obviously) the most powerful smartphone of the brand.
Unfortunately, however, to date the only Redmi "flagship" is the Note 7 Pro presented last week. The device does not equip an 855 SD card but rather an excellent Snapdragon 675 accompanied by 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card and a Sony IMX586 camera from 48MP. The rest of the hard remains the same as the Redmi Note 7, with 6,3 inch FHD + screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass both front and back and a large 4000mAh battery.
