Also today, like all the previous days, a new teaser has been released confirming one of the features that we will find on the next Redmi K20.
The general manager of Redmi and vice-president of Xiaomi Group, Lu Weibing, has indeed announced on the social Weibo that the first true flagship of the sub-brand become independent last January will be equipped with a Dual-Frequency GPS system.
Redmi K20: Confirmed presence of Dual-Frequency GPS
The dual-frequency GPS was marketed (on smartphones) for the first time by Xiaomi on its own Mi 8 last year, since then many top of the range started to adopt the new technology.
Previously, the smartphone used a single frequency to obtain the GPS position, in particular signals from the L1 type satellite. These can sometimes interfere with the ionosphere and be disturbed by large buildings, resulting in inaccurate positioning. With the dual-frequency GPS instead, the L5 signal is also used, this increases its accuracy.
Returning to the Redmi K20, it would seem that the Xiaomi sub-brand has decided not to miss anything with the self-proclaimed Flagship Killer 2.0. In addition to the dual-frequency GPS, we will find the best mobile processor in circulation, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. We will then have a quality AMOLED screen, Full HD + resolution and 19.5: 9 of aspect ratio, a fingerprint sensor under the seventh generation screen, an 3.5mm audio jack with Hi-Res certificate, a latest generation NFC module and an 4000mAh battery.
On the photographic source instead, the Redmi K20 will be equipped with a Sony IMX586 main sensor from 48MP, most likely accompanied by a secondary 8MP camera with telephoto lens and one by 13MP with ultra wide angle lens. While in front we will have a camera with a pop-up mechanism with probable resolution of 20MP.
Now we just have to wait to see the final price so we can decide if it deserves the name "Killer 2.0" that follows that of "Flagship".
