After an endless series of leak and teaser the much awaited Redmi K20 series called "Flagship Killer 2.0" was officially announced today in China. As expected, two devices were presented in total, the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro, so let's discover the differences!
Let's start with the first real 2.0 Flagship Killer announced today, namely the Redmi K20 Pro. The smartphone is equipped with the best performing processor on the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, accompanied by up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory.
Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are official, here are all the specifications
Externally, the device has a glass body that includes several layers that make it shining under the light in the Red and Blue colors, while the Carbon Black variant is opaque and has a carbon fiber style motif. Inside the chassis we find instead a AMOLED panel from 6,39 inches diagonal resolution with Full HD + resolution, 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, support for DC Dimming technology, 91,9% screen-to-body ratio and lower edge of 3.8mm. Below the display we then have an advanced seventh generation optical fingerprint reader.
From a photographic point of view, the smartphone comes with a main camera from 48 SM (Sony IMX586 sensor, f / 1.75 opening), a secondary with objective I telephon from 8MP and a third with lens ultra wide-angle (124,8 °) with resolution 13 SM. This is the exact same setup aboard the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, so we can expect photos of the same quality. While for selfies we will have a front camera from 20MP hidden in a pop-up mechanism.
The rest of the hardware within the Redmi K20 Pro includes a NFC module last generation, a audio jack from 3,5mm with Hi-Res certification, a large speaker and Dual-frequency GPS (L1 + L5 dual-band GPS). The smartphone will be powered by a large battery from 4000mAh which supports 27W fast charge, with the general dimensions being 156,7 × 74,3 × 8,8mm for a weight of 191 grams.
Finally, as regards the software, the new device arrives with the MIUI 10 and a new mode Game Turbo 2.0 which promises to improve gaming performance even further.

Passing instead to the Redmi K20, the cheapest of the two comes with a mid-range processor that actually hides flagship performance (at least last year), we're talking about the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 released a few weeks ago. The CPU is then accompanied by 6GB of RAM and a maximum of 64GB of internal memory.
Everything else remains unchanged since Redmi K20 Pro, then comes with the same screen from 6,39 inches AMOLED and setup of cameras, then 48MP (Sony IMX582) + 8MP + 13MP and a frontal from 20MP. We have the same internal features that include NFC, audio jack and dual-frequency GPS. Here too the battery is from 4000mAh but this time supports the ultra fast charging to 18W.
Finally, as regards prices, the Redmi K20 with Snapdragon 730 has a starting price of 1999 Yuan or about 258 euro for the version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, 2099 Yuan for 128GB of memory (270 €). The Redmi K20 Pro starts from a price of 2499 Yuan, about 323 €, for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory costs 2999 Yuan, 388 euro at the exchange. Finally, you can buy an external gamepad to connect to the K20 Pro for the price of 179 yuan (23 €).
Redmi's general manager who introduced smartphones, Lu Weibing, did not talk about a global launch, so we just have to wait to see in the coming days if the devices will arrive, under what names and with what prices.
Anyway, what do you think of the K20 Pro? Do you agree with Redmi to call it the "Flagship Killer 2.0"? Let us know in the comments section below!
I'm about to go to China. If I buy k20 does it work in Italy?
the only flaw for me is the size and especially the weight.
191 grams? Jokes? You have spaghetti instead of arms
Sony IMX586 on k20pro
Sony IMX582 on K20)
The difference has been explained. 582 can shoot 4K videos at 30fps, but not at 60fps. 586 instead yes, so I would say stupid and useless difference
Exact! Do you say stupid difference in the sense that you don't care or you would have preferred there was no difference?
It changes little, details "
I think k20 6 / 128 will be my next phone, so s730 is more powerful than my s820. Pending reviews and Italian / European prices.
Will it be available in EUrope? Posla, Slovak, Czech?
We assume it will, but we don't know whether they'll be called Redmi K20 / K20 Pro or not and how much they'll cost.
A GOOD TELEPHONE, BUT I DO NOT DEFINE IT ++ FLAG SHIP + WHY MISSING, THE STABILIZER, THE WIRELESS RECHARGE, VIDEO OUT, AND ME DOES NOT LIKE THE POP UP CAMERA. I FIND A LITTLE FRAGILE
As for stabilization, I would wait for some more news, we are not 100% sure, and then digital as you have already been told has gone a long way. (always the same thing, to take good photos there are reflex cameras, I and I emphasize I, I consider cell phones as "capture the moment to remember" so no big deal) Wireless charging is useless for me so it doesn't change anything for me. Video output they could have put it, but even here it leaves the time it finds. Pop up camera is fine for me Maximum price personally was €349 for the 8/128/256 version. Anyway, I don't... Personal opinion but optical stabilization is no longer as fundamental as before. Obviously it would be nice to have it, but the digital one has made great strides in recent years.
Do you like AS?
As I told you, it doesn't support microsd, anyway yes and I'm more attracted by the basic k20
In fact, you were right ... nice anyway I also know that I will aim for the normal 20gb k64
Let's hope no pastry with global versions now ... ..
I think 128 one. Not being expandable, I don't even know how and when they will come out global. It was the most important news but I didn't hear it
Yes, right
All nice ... but there is no additional memory microsd. Pity
