Less than a week has passed since the presentation of the first real flagship of the Redmi brand, already scheduled for 28 in May. This means that until that day we will receive new confirmations on the hardware that we will find on board the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro.
As you will have understood from the title, those of today concern the sensor of fingerprints, that as anticipated in the past weeks, will be positioned under the screen and the type of display.
Redmi K20: Confirmed UD fingerprint sensor and AMOLED screen
In today's teaser we discover that this UD sensor will be of seventh generation, so a big step forward compared to the fifth generation one present on the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE.
What are the substantial differences? According to the Xiaomi teaser, this new optical sensor comes with larger pixels, well 7,2µm, with an increased capture surface area of 15%. In addition we will have an increased light sensitivity of the 100%, this means that less light is needed to illuminate the footprint, a dynamic range increased by 33%, will be faster than 10% and finally the percentages of successful footprint recognition will increase by 30%.
In addition to the very interesting data concerning the fingerprint sensor, in the image above we can finally admire the final design of the Redmi K20 (and Redmi K20 Pro?). Here we have no surprise as we were already expecting a truly full screen design thanks to the presence of a front camera with a pop-up mechanism. The thickness of the "chin" (lower edge) is not clear, but we think it is quite thin, at least according to Lu Weibing, the general manager of Redmi.
Finally, along with the latest generation sensor, the presence of an AMOLED screen with 2340 × 1080 resolution was also confirmed.
Summarizing instead all the hardware previously confirmed, we have the most powerful mobile processor, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (AnTutu score of over 400 thousand points), an audio jack from 3.5mm to be able to connect your favorite headphones, an NFC module for electronic payment and an 4000mAh battery.
As for the cameras, there is certainly only the presence of a Sony IMX586 sensor from 48MP that will allow you to shoot slow motion video at 960fps. We believe it can be paired with a secondary 8MP with telephoto lens and a third 13MP sensor with ultra wide-angle lens.
The Redmi K20 will be available in at least three colors: Red, Blue and Carbon Black. To date, the possible differences between the basic Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro, which has not yet been officially announced by Redmi, are not yet clear.
The dimensions of the phone
I 9 see size would be perfect for me.
Pretty sure it'll be as big as the Xiaomi Mi 9, both the Redmi k20 and Redmi k20 Pro.
All perfect. Only the lower chin is missing, which must be very low and is day one
Very well ... at this point it makes me wonder ... but the papabile PRO ... what differences could it have compared to the "normal" k20?
Unconfirmed, but recharging speed could be a factor.
