Redmi K30 4G and 5G are official: 120Hz screen and much more

After months of rumors and leaks, the Redmi K30 series is finally official. As already mentioned by the brand itself, the new series includes Redmi K30 4G and Redmi K30 5G. Let's go then to discover together the two flagship-killers of the Chinese brand!

Redmi K30 4G and 5G are official: 120Hz screen and much more

The Redmi K30 arrives with a huge 6,67 inch screen, with Full HD resolution + and screen-to-body ratio (screen shell ratio) of the 91%. But the most interesting datum is the refresh rate which from the typical 60Hz goes up to 120Hz. We will therefore have a more fluid user experience both in terms of gaming and in the MIUI interface.

Inside this very advanced display we find a double pill hole for the two front cameras. According to the data communicated by Redmi, the hole on the display has a diameter of 4.38mm, but as we see clearly in the poster, this is the size of the sensor only and not the entire hole. Finally, as far as the screen is concerned, the K30 adopts the COF technology to decrease the lower edge up to 4.25mm, while the refresh rate can be changed from 120Hz to 90Hz and 60Hz depending on requirements.

The Redmi K30 5G is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which as we learned earlier is able to reach over 300 thousand points on AnTuTu. The new SoC also adopts an 7nm production process, therefore very energy efficient, but nevertheless it leads to an increase in 40% graphics performance and 100% for AI calculations.

Obviously the 5G version of the K30 also uses the 5G module that accompanies the Snapdragon 765G. The smartphone therefore supports the dual-mode 5G NSA / SA, 5G Smart Intelligent Network Adjustment to reduce energy consumption and improve performance and finally the 5G MultiLink technology, to have WiFi at 5GHz + 2.4GHz + 4G / 5G all three in operation simultaneously.

While the Redmi K 4G instead adopts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, like the recent Xiaomi Mi Note 10.

Redmi K30 4G and Redmi K30 5G

As for the photographic sector, Redmi confirmed everything we already knew. In fact we have a main sensor from 64MP, the brand new Sony IMX686 accompanied by a lens with f / 1.7 aperture and pixel binning technology to combine 4 pixels in 1 and improve the results when taking photos in low light.

Together with the main camera we find a sensor with ultra wide-angle lens from 8MP, one with super macro lens with 5MP resolution (2MP on 4G version) and finally a depth sensor from 2MP to take pictures with the much-loved bokeh effect. For selfies we have instead a sensor from 20MP and one from 2MP, always to add the blur effect.

Along with quality hardware, an excellent photo software is also required. The Redmi K30 adopts many of the functions we find on the Chinese Xiaomi CC9 Pro, such as the "Night God" mode to take great photos even at night, AI Magic Sky Change to automatically change the sky, AI Dual-Shot to take quality selfies, the ability to shoot in RAW format to be able to edit them more easily in post and finally AI Real-Time Subtitles, a feature that allows you to add subtitles automatically.

As anticipated in the past few days, the Redmi K30 5G arrives with a new fast charging technology that optimizes the charge while keeping the current used low. So even with a "only" 30W recharge, the smartphone recharges faster than its competitors. In fact, we can recharge the huge 4500mAh battery in only 1 now. While on the 4G version we have a more common 27W reload.

Another relatively unique feature on Redmi's K30 is the presence of an old-style fingerprint sensor positioned on the right side. This can be used both for unlocking the device and as an on / off button.

Other specifications include liquid cooling, multi-function NFC, dual frequency GPS, infrared emitters and Hi-Res 1217 super-linear speaker.

Finally, as far as prices are concerned, the Redmi K30 5G is the cheapest 5G smartphone on the market starting from 1999 Yuan, about 256 € at current exchange rates, for the 6GB version of RAM and 64GB of storage. The 4G variant starts from 1599 Yuan (205 €), again with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

I can't wait for the Pro version to come out. Indeed, even better that Xiaomi finally brings out a real top of the range complete with everything.
