A few days ago the long-awaited Redmi K30 was finally officially unveiled with a design never seen before on a Redmi smartphone, or Xiaomi for that matter. Let's talk about a pill-shaped hole on the screen that "hides" the two front-facing cameras.
Redmi K30: The pill hole on the screen? In reality they are two!
Well, today from China come real new photos of the device that seem to deny everything we knew. Apparently, it is not a pill-hole with two sensors inside, but two separate cameras joined by a portion of black screen created by software.
This technique is very similar to the one we have seen adopted by different smartphone manufacturers with notch on the screen that could be "hidden" by turning the whole notification bar into black.
Now it is difficult to say if this is a positive or negative discovery, since at the end of the day there is not a big difference for the end user. What we can see, however, is that if Redmi managed to bring the two cameras closer together, we will have much less dead space inside the display.
In any case, the Redmi K30 5G remains a really interesting device with its display of 6.67 inches and with the very high refresh rate of 120Hz for a much more fluid user experience than the typical 60Hz. We also have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 675G, a high-performance and low-power processor that integrates a dual-mode 5G NSA / SA module to connect the smartphone to the next generation 5G networks.
Also in the photographic sector the K30 5G does not miss anything with a latest generation sensor, the recent Sony IMX686 from 64MP well with f / 1.7 focal aperture and pixel binning technology to join 4 pixels in 1. We then have a camera with ultra wide-angle lens from 8MP, one with super macro lens with 5MP resolution (2MP on 4G version) and finally a depth sensor from 2MP to take pictures with the required bokeh effect. For selfies we have instead a sensor from 20MP and one from 2MP, always to add the blur effect.
Finally, the Redmi K30 5G equips a large 4500mAh battery with support for fast charging to 30W MF to recharge the smartphone from 0 to 100% in just an hour, an NFC module, 3.5mm audio jack and much more.
